Foot odors occur when bacteria begins to grow and expand. In order for bacteria to grow it needs 3 things:
Moisture. Heat. Food.
The heat comes from the foot being on the footbed/ in the shoe. The moisture comes from the perspiration our bodies give off naturally. Finally, within that perspiration, are amino acids that the bacteria feeds on which is essentially the food, which ultimately leads the bacteria to grow larger while exhausting such a foul odor.
Anti-bacteria dish soap and hand wipe the footbeds. Then with a damp cloth, wipe any excess dish soap remaining on the footbed. Finally, let the footbeds air dry.
